The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education. The program provides fundamental support and opportunities for participants to succeed in pre-college courses and ultimately succeed in higher-educational pursuits. I am currently enrolled in a pre-college program called 'TRIO: Upward Bound' held at NJIT in Newark, NJ. This program is known to be a college-preparing summer program and continues throughout the school year in order to properly prepare high school students for college in the future.
