The F/A-18 'Hornet' is a single- and two-seat, twin engine, multi-mission fighter/attack aircraft that can operate from either aircraft carriers or land bases. The F/A-18 fills a variety of roles: air superiority, fighter escort, suppression of enemy air defenses, reconnaissance, forward air control. The US Navy F/A-18 E and F Super Hornet maritime strike attack aircraft was manufactured by Boeing, and flew for the first time on 29 November 1995. Super Hornet is about 25% larger than its predecessor the F/A-18C/D, but contains 42% fewer structural parts. F/A-18 Combat Version. This is the Acceleration F/A-18 Hornet equipped with 20mm M61 cannon and a fully functional air-to-air gun mode found in the real F/A-18. With the two radar modes, the two gun sights and the flying tracers, the virtual dogfight will be very similar to a real one.

F/A-18 Hornet Panel details:
Functionality, attention to detail and recreating the 'real feel' of a fighter cockpit has been aerialfoundry's focus in the design of the Hornet's 2D panel and virtual cockpit (VC). Original gauges are visible and accessible through the VC, which is wrapped in original textures that cover every part of this cockpit giving an extraordinary depth to this VC.
The 'Pilot's Point of View' in the single seat VC seats the virtual pilot comfortably with clear vision in the aircraft and allows pilots taking the tandem seat versions up, to experience and take the controls from 'rear seat'.
The 2D panel features side and centre consoles, three colour Heads Up Display (HUD) and various original gauges throughout the panel including Hornet style engine management readout.
