Ys VII: The Oath in Felghana (ISO DVD) (English patch included) The seventh in the re-incarnated RPG series Ys (which had originally ceased its run with the fifth game) from Nihon Falcom. It is is a Japanese-origin computer role-playing game series, and Nihon Falcom corporation's flagship franchise.
Ys VII and Oath in Felgana - These get unaminous praise and I'm pretty sure I'd like them considering I've played through and beat Origins, Ys I, VI on PS2, Celceta on Vita and VIII on PS4. Love this series but never played VII or Oath. Felghana is very similar to Origins. If you like Origins, Felghana is a must play. Oath in Felghana is the remake of Ys 3 so it is chronologically the next game, and it's probably the best game in the series. Origin is an dungeon crawler heavy on fanservice for Ys 1 and 2 set long before the mainline series so that would also be a reasonable choice for next game to play while Ys 1 and 2 are fresh in your mind.

- FYI, Ys: the Oath in Felghana is a complete remake of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys -- 'complete' in the sense that pretty much the only things that have been preserved are the area names, character names, boss names, the basis of the musical tracks (new rearrangements of which were made), and very general sense of the plot and progression.

Hi guys, I just finished Ys I yesterday. I was on a bit of a drought in gaming after Xenoblade 2, and I was looking into backlogged games to play. Decided to give Ys a go since Trails it's on top of my list since I discovered Falcom 2y ago.
Enough introduction. I am confused about the order to play Ys games after Ys II.
This is what I have been following. I planned to do the Story Path, but that last sentence about fans made me doubt.
Also, I am confused about that other sentence about VIII and VI. The Story path suggests playing VI the 6th and VIII the 8th, but in the explanation says 'Feel free to play Ys VIII before Ys VI as it does take place in that order.' as contradicting itself.
VI seems to be quite important as to when to play it. It says doing the story path has a major reveal on VI playing it later. I like major surprises.
Anyway, if someone can clarify these statements for me please, so I can decide and have peace in mind. For now I am going to start Ys II. :) Quite nice so far.

Ys: The Oath in Felghana[a] is an action role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom. It is a enhanced remake of the third game in the Ys series, Ys III: Wanderers from Ys. It was first released for Microsoft Windows in Japan in July 2005, with an English localization by Xseed Games in March 2012.[1][2] A PlayStation Portable version was also released in Japan in April 2010, and later in North America and Europe.[3]

Plot[edit]
As in Ys III, Adol Christin and his friend Dogi are traveling to Dogi's hometown of Felghana three years after the events of the first two games. Upon arriving, they discover that evil happenings are threatening the townspeople, and it is up to Adol to put a stop to it. The basic plot was slightly modified from the original, and expanded through the use of additional scenes.
Gameplay[edit]
The game-play follows the new model from Ys: The Ark of Napishtim, with several improvements. Many things from the previous game were streamlined to keep the focus on the action as opposed to equipment and item management. For example, healing item and stat bonuses are no longer carried as items or accessories; instead, these bonuses are dropped from defeated enemies and are used upon pickup along with an experience bonus for attack combos. These bonuses are maintained through constant combat.

The Oath in Felghana was first released in Japan for Microsoft Windows on July 4, 2005. It later received a port for the PlayStation Portable in Japan on April 22, 2010, with an English release by Xseed Games on November 2, 2010.[4] In order to help offset localization costs, XSEED licensed and paid for the use of a fan translation that had been produced previously for the PC version.[5][6] Xseed later added the localization to the Windows version, releasing it on March 19, 2012. This version is the same as the original Japanese PC release, but added achievements and leaderboards.[7] However, some of the features from the PSP version were not included, including voice acting and further New Game+ options.[8] Pearl necklace lisa ann.

The soundtrack from Ys III: Wanderers from Ys was re-arranged for this game by Yukihiro Jindo. The full 2-CD soundtrack, Ys -The Oath in Felghana- Original Sound Track, was released in 2005. Released at the same time was Ys -The Oath in Felghana- Super Arrange Version, a disc with 10 additional Oath in Felghana arrangements. The Original Sound Track and Super Arrange Version were also released together in a package known as the Ys -The Oath in Felghana- Perfect Collection. Ys: The Oath in Felghana Musical Selections is a collection of 23 songs from the game that XSEED Games released with the Premium Edition of the North American release of the PSP port of the game.[4]
