Back to topAdditional product attributes IBM Director Agent
IBM Director Agent, a client management application for networked computers, centralizes control ofyour computer systems to potentially help lower the total cost of ownership. View, monitor, andcontrol your networked computers with IBM Director Agent.
With IBM Director Agent, you can:
Because IBM Director Agent uses some of the latest systems management standards, including CommonInformation Model, Web-Based Enterprise Management, and XML, it is typically compatible with theenterprise management software you have already.
IBM Director Agent can also be used with the complete IBM Director product for more comprehensiveworkgroup management:
Technology enablers
IBM technology enablers are the supporting hardware designed into IBM products to enablecomprehensive systems management.
Alert Standard Format 2.0 (ASF): Enhance your ability to monitor PCs locally or remotely, with remote secure power-oncapability. ASF notifies you immediately of system events, such as chassis intrusion, clientdisconnect from the network, or system startup errors, regardless of the power state of the system.ASF helps provide both systems management and asset protection. Systems management notifies you ofconfiguration changes during power-on self-test (POST), system errors during POST, and operatingsystem hangs or errors. Asset protection tracks the system presence via monitoring of an LANconnection and tracking intrusion, regardless of whether the system is fully powered on, or whetherthe system is off, but still plugged into the outlet. Also, ASF notifies you when certainenvironmental conditions, such as the temperature, are abnormal.
Trusted platform module (TPM): TPM is a piece of hardware that provides additional security on a system. The TPM chipgenerates encryption keys, which can be used to help securely store documents, secure sending ofdocuments, and secure password storage.
