SNK vs. Capcom EX is a full game project by Yamori X creating using the I.K.E.M.E.N engine. It is heavily inspired by both the SNK vs. Capcom and Street Fighter EX series of games, with additional elements taken from Darkstalkers.
As of February 24th, 2019, the game stands at Version 0.5.2.7 Beta.
System
SNK vs. Capcom EX utilizes a six-button layout, using all three and buttons for punches and kicks, respectively. All characters can chain their grounded Normal attacks into a Normal of higher strength, while aerial Normals cannot be chained at all. All Normals can be cancelled into Specials, ES Specials, or Supers, while Specials can be cancelled into any ES Special or Super. Supers can also be cancelled into other Supers.
Normals can also be cancelled into any Command Normal, though the Command Normal will lose its special properties in doing so, but will still be able to be cancelled into a Special, ES Special, Super.
Snk Vs Capcom
ES Specials are the equivalent of EX Specials, and cost 1000 Power to perform, but have additional properties. These can be cancelled into from any Normal, Command Normal, or Special move.
Borrowing from Street Fighter EX are Guard Breakers, which are a universal mechanic that costs 1000 Power. As the name suggests, these moves are completely unblockable, putting an opponent into a Dizzy state or juggle state depending on whether they are on the ground or in the air, allowing for a follow-up combo.
Characters are also able to perform a Guard Cancel at the cost of 1000 Power using +, +, or + while in blockstun.
